In 2024 while trying to find the right flavors, we proudly served our first customers and hosted tasting events that allowed people to experience our vision firsthand. The response confirmed what we already believed — people are always searching for authentic food made with passion, quality, and purpose.
In 2025, Pobre Pelao Eats officially opened as a catering and delivery company with real experience, real expectations, and a commitment to serving our community the right way and we plan to continue this as we set our sights on transitioning to our first public fast casual restaurant.

Why We’re Called Pobre Pelao
The name Pobre Pelao is a colloquial Spanish term for Poor Boy. That's right, we are so inspired by our freshly created Po' Boy sandwiches served on our freshly made French Style garlic butter rolls that we made it our name. The Po' Boy an American symbol of hard work, community, and affordable delicious food.
At Pobre Pelao Eats, we carry that same spirit — serving hardworking people and families with real food, bold flavor, and affordable meals made with care. Our name represents culture, resilience, and the belief that great food should be for everyone, Pobre Pelao Eats is our modern interpretation of that same spirit — combining Southern inspiration, bold Cajun flavors, and urban culture into food that feels authentic, comforting, and made with purpose.
